CarePage, delivering better outcomes for older Australians.
When it comes time to choose an aged care facility for a loved one, families are often forced to make crucial decisions at a point of crisis.
Before 2014, the process of accessing information that would allow families to make an informed decision was compounding peoples issues rather than alleviating them, and this need, coupled with the urge to empower the lives of older Australians, resulted in an innovative online aged care directory known as CarePage.
Founded by aged care nurse Lauren Todorovic, CarePage was Australia’s first online reviews website for aged care facilities, retirement villages and home-care services.
Only three years after going live, the CarePage team realised that the previous information deficit, which was once an issue for consumers, was a genuine issue for aged care service providers.
Aged care environments need to be flexible to cater to the changing needs of both consumers and staff, and the only way in which a provider can ascertain if a change is required is by having tangible, real-time evidence, regarding the current success of their procedures.
Realising this data has long been the missing-link for aged care providers who are looking to improve the quality of care, CarePage created a cutting-edge consumer real-time feedback system known as CarePage Business.
CarePage Business supports providers to track, measure and monitor data on quality of life and experience in aged care to deliver better consumers, employee and business outcomes.
“Being equipped with this level of information allows organisations to identify and assess their own operational deficiencies, paving the way for the implementation of improvement plans that are based on factual data, rather than anecdotal feedback on operational processes within an aged care setting.” Lauren Todorovic, CarePage Founder & CEO in Westpac Smart Industry Report: Healthcare 2030
Everyone has a role to play in the experience ageing.
According to Westpac, by 2056 an estimated one in four Australians will be aged 65+ and almost two million of them will be older than 85.
“Getting aged care right is vital for everyone. After all, this sector impacts on the majority of Australians.” Jo Mullins, National Head of Industry Specialisation, Westpac Commercial Bank in Smart Industry Report: Healthcare 2030
